Non-Toxic: It’s safe for use and doesn’t emit strong odors during printing.
Heat Resistance: While PLA has a glass temperature (temperature at which the plastic becomes soft) lower than that of a hot cup, it won’t melt under normal use. The filament weakens at around 50°C but doesn’t melt until temperatures above 150°C.
Practicality: PLA coasters can withstand the temperature of a hot cup without deforming. Even if you pour boiling water into a cup, the outside of the cup will have a lower temperature, and only a small part of the cup actually touches the coaster.
